Where can I find information regarding study leave?

If you are a GPStR, the following information regarding study leave can be found in your contract of employment:

(a) A study leave allowance of 30 days approved study leave will apply. This will include attendance at a day release course, on full pay and allowances during the period of twelve months in the practice and pro rata for shorter periods or part time training. Study leave requests may be agreed between you and your trainer/educational supervisor (acting on delegated responsibility from NES) subject to approval by the Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education. Such requests will not be unreasonably refused.

(b) Attendance at nominated day or half day release courses is a condition of employment.

The 30 days (or pro-rata’ed no.) should be split evenly across posts i.e. if doing 6 months GP and then a 6 month hospital posts.
