Governance

Governance is the collective term for the procedures and controls that everyone in the NHS must follow to make sure that we are acting legally, fairly and appropriately at all times, and in the best interest of patients and service users.

It also refers to the structure of monitoring and reports by which senior management and the Board can be assured that NES staff comply with all our legal and regulatory obligations.

Good governance is the job of everyone who works in NES. Whatever your role, it is vital that we work transparently and in compliance with all the relevant standards. Effective governance helps us ensure that the services we provide to the NHS workforce are delivered effectively, efficiently and fairly.
