Whilst in practice placements, the NES Trainee Services team will be your first point of contact.

NES HR wants to ensure that you experience the very best service that we can provide and below is the contact will help support you throughout your training with HR related enquiries.

The HR Trainee Services Team provide HR services for both the on-boarding of GP trainees in practice, and also any subsequent HR support that may be required once in employment. This is in addition to existing PVG and Skilled Worker Visa activities. 

To simplify your access into HR all queries and requests for support should initially be by raising a ticket on the HR Trainee Services Service Desk (at https://nesdigital.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/30) in the first instance and we will respond to you directly to seek to resolve.

Pre-employment checks

Salary placement

Occupational Health referrals

Maternity, Paternity & Parental leave

Special leave

Conduct & Capability (all stages where NES is Placement Board, stage 3 only where NES is Employing Board)

Sickness absence 

Absence management reporting 

End dates & Terminations

Processing of payroll forms & amendments to contract

Please note that the first time you submit a query through this helpdesk you will need to self-register with JIRA using your NHS email address (personal email accounts should NOT be used).

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is responsible for carrying out your criminal record check via the PVG scheme as NES is the single service provider for PVG checks for Doctors and Dentists in training (DDit) in NHS Scotland.
