Implementation of self-isolation exemptions for Health and Social Care staff

11 August 2021

DL(2021)22 outlines the Policy Framework and accompanying fact sheet which enables fully vaccinated and asymptomatic Health and Social Care staff who have been a contact of someone with a positive Covid-19 test to be exempted from self-isolation requirements under specific circumstances.

The policy framework puts into place a temporary set of provisions designed to protect health and social care service provision. It is to be used by health and care services who are already experiencing, or face a, major disruption to services with the potential for a major incident which poses a significant risk to the health, safety and well-being of patients, service users and staff.

Where staff choose to return to work under the terms of this policy, the clinical mitigation requirements outlines, including to undertake testing, are mandatory.

Further information on the policy can also be found here. If you have any further questions, please contact the relevant Placement Board or NES HR by raising a ticket at https://nesdigital.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/30
