COVID-19 £500 bonus payment

Further to previous communication about a £500 one off payment for all health and care staff as a thank-you for helping Scotland cope with COVID-19, the majority of staff received this in their February salary.

Staff were offered the opportunity to opt out the payment temporarily, to ensure that no one would be worse off as a result, and to then opt back in by 5^th March 2021. For those who have opted out, or who have not yet received the payment, the Scottish Government has now extended the date by which staff may opt back in, to 5^th July 2021. This is to allow further time for individuals to consider and seek advice on their personal circumstances. Further details can be found here, and the form which should be completed is here.
