Brexit: EU and EEA citizens

As you are aware, the UK left the European Union on the 31 of January 2020 and the transition period concluded on 31 December 2020.

The new rules came into effect on 1 January 2021. This means free movement for EU/EEA citizens has ended, and you may need to apply to the UK Government for residence status.

EU Settlement Scheme

At all times, NES employees must make sure they have the right to work in the UK. To continue living and working in the UK after 31 December 2020, you should apply to the EU Settlement Scheme for settled or pre-settled status. The same applies for your family members, if they do not have British or Irish nationality. 

If you have not already done so, it is very important that you apply to the EU Settlement Scheme as soon as possible. You can apply for free, using any device, such as a laptop, Android device or iPhone.

The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021.
