Since August 2016, NHS Education for Scotland (NES) has been the single service provider for disclosure checks for medical trainees in NHS Scotland. This means that as a trainee you may choose to complete a disclosure application form once, when commencing a training programme in Scotland. NES hopes that this is helpful to you as you now only have to complete disclosure paperwork once whilst working across the NHS in Scotland (NHSS).

We would be grateful if you could ensure that your personal information is up to date on TURAS including your postal address.  You can update your postal address by logging into TURAS People and clicking on the “Update My Address Details” button on the top right of the home screen.

An online PVG form will be sent to the email address we hold for you on Turas.  Without an up to date PVG check you will be unable to commence your training and employment.  If you have previously completed a PVG check with NHS Education for Scotland, you will not be required to complete this again. Please note that a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service in England and Wales) disclosure check does not substitute for PVG scheme membership with Disclosure Scotland.
